At Open The Arts, our mission is simple: to carve out a welcoming space for individuals like you, who are drawn to the beauty and creativity of swing dancing and its surrounding arts. We believe that learning and enrichment often stems from exploring the unknown. Our festival should serve as a gateway to discovering new facets of yourself through the lens of artistic expression.
So, whether you're eager to get at your dance moves from another angle, dive into something new, unlock your inner artist, or simply bask in the welcoming atmosphere of creativity, join us at Open The Arts. The workshops cover a wide range of topics including Stage Personality, Body Movement, Floorwork, Music Creation, Singing, Clowning, Comedy, Blues on Stage, Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, and Tap.
Do you wish to delve deeper into a specific topic or feel adventurous, hopping from theme to theme? We've got you covered! When registering, you can freely choose which workshop you would like to attend in every time slot. Read through our program carefully before deciding, there is so much to explore!
Located near Saarbrücken, the Theater am Ring in Saarlouis is a distinctive venue pulsating with artistic energy. It's under this roof and upon its stages that our festival unfolds.
Accessibility: We're committed to facilitating travel arrangements, including limited hosting options and carpooling, with the help of our local dancers. Additionally, we aim to provide discounts for hotels in Saarlouis itself. More information on this will follow soon.

Traveling by public transport:
From the main station Saarlouis bus lines: 401, 402, 403, 413, 415, 437,438 to the stop “Landratsamt” (ca. 7 minutes).
Traveling by car:
Via the A 620 motorway, take the Saarlouis-Mitte exit (3) towards the city centre on Metzer Straße (B 405) until the roundabout, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit into Lothringer Straße. At the end of the street you will find the "Theater an Ring" directly opposite.
Reduced prices are available for students, apprentices, employees in voluntary service, people with disabilities and all people in need.

We want to make it possible for everyone to take part in our festival, no matter how big their wallet is. That's why we are also offering the concept of "suspended (dance) classes" for the Open the Arts Festival, similar to the idea of "suspended coffee".
Can you spare a euro or two to support other participants financially?
Cool! Simply enter how much more you are happy to pay in the "postponed dance course" section of the registration form. The amount will automatically be added to your booking.
Are you short of money at the moment and would like to make use of the "suspended (dance) classes"?
